LE VAL DE FLORE

More than just a Garden!
Val de Flore

Description

More Than Just a Garden The Val de Flor has a surprising range of natural settings on a 3 hectare site.  Within the dry grasslands and wet zones are around ten different environments: avenues of ash trees, bamboo, hazelnut, mixed oak and ash woods, insect hotels, children's garden, dry stone walls, dry grassland and terraces, wet zones, beehives...
Diversity Sustainable development is achieved by varying the way the environment is managed and respecting the rich bio-diversity.  Wildlife is varied and vegetation luxurious: multiple different varieties of plants, insects, birds, small mammals, butterflies...everything is done to encourage biodiversity and allow the visitor a respectful and enticing visit.
Au Naturel Human intervention is kept to  minimum and some areas are allowed to remain wild (bramble patches and tall grass areas), whilst others are cultivated using eco-gardening techniques (for example, the children's garden).  Each space is maintained for the comfort of its natural inhabitants, for example the beehive is situated in the most natural and wild area of the site to keep the bees contented.
All Year Round The Val du Flor welcomes visitors all year round with activities (new every year) for example exhibitions, shows and discovery visits organised in partnership with La Maison du Patrimoine and the local district council. For further information visit the site of the Maison du Patrimoine
