Who are we? Nestled in the valley of the Autize river we have a herd of 80 Alpine goats. The team is made up of 6 people: Jean-François and Sylvie are in charge with Baptiste, Gwénaëlle and Amandine the employees and Anne-Laure the apprentice. The women look after the goats, the cheesemaking and sales whereas the men take care of the crops, the herd of milking cows and help with the goats as well. The Cheesemaking All our milk is used for cheese. That is about 120 litres per milking in summer down to an average of 40 litres in winter. We make a respectably wide selection of cheeses, from the freshest to the most mature. (fresh cheeses in pyramids or squares, mixed with herbs, slightly matured logs to extra crusty matured...) Depending on the cheese we add table salt, crystal salt or salt mixed with poplar ash. We also make a Tomme cheese with goats' milk. We sell pasteurised milk, yoghurts, cream, egg custards (all 100% goats' milk) to give folk who are intolerant to cows' milk the chance to indulge! Come and Get to Know us! Come and see our goats and their kids. Find out how they spend their time, what they eat, how they are milked and looked after. Milking is at 5:30pm, open to the public every day except Sundays and Bank Holidays. There is a play area for children with outdoor play equipment. We also have a mini farm with a small pony, a donkey, a couple of sheep and a poultry yard (chickens geese...)
